Razorwire RAW OT in a Critical state Edited
When the power goes off, how much else goes with it?
Water pumps. Communications. Fuel supplies. The services we rely on every single day.
Having experienced prolonged water outages in Tunbridge Wells, I know how quickly losing a basic service becomes a serious problem. Those outages weren’t, to my knowledge, cyber attacks. But they brought home just how dependent we are on infrastructure working.
In this episode of Razorwire RAW, I’m looking at the security of operational technology and critical infrastructure, particularly power. Ageing systems, unsupported technology, supplier access and inadequate resilience are serious concerns. Add AI lowering the effort required for parts of an attack, and the pressure to address those weaknesses increases.
Operators need to invest in defence in depth and tested recovery. Manufacturers need to provide secure systems with proper support and a credible upgrade path. Supply Chains need to be protected to those OT services
When people depend on your service for their safety, security has to be part of delivering it in an ongoing and reliable timeline.
Its either that or something… much… much worse.
