Zalo is a chat application on the rise and exceedingly popular in South-East Asia with a user base of over 100 million. In a number of countries, including Vietnam and Myanmar, the application rivals WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger as the most popular chat application. Bad Plugin: It's What's On The Inside That Counts.

Recently we came across an interesting case that demonstrates just how important it is to monitor the behaviour of your network as even simple software components can be deceptive in nature. Our analysts were alerted to suspicious network activity originating from Microsoft Edge running on a Windows 10 machine. The browser in this instance was making a large number of web requests even though the machine was locked and not in use. There was one notable long running connection.

The Citrix Vulnerability And What It Means For You

In December 2019, Citrix announced that their flagship product, Citrix Application Delivery Controller (ADC) and Gateway, had a vulnerability that would allow code execution to take place on affected devices without any authentication. This vulnerability (designated CVE-2019-19781) was severe - on a scale of 1 to 10 it was deemed a 9.8 meaning that an attacker able to exploit this vulnerability could do serious damage.
