AI SecOps Worskhop Series: Building Custom Stand-Alone Dashboard Applications

This hands-on workshop is designed for security professionals, developers, and analysts who want to unlock the full potential of their security data through custom dashboards and visualizations. We will guide attendees through a practical, step-by-step process demonstrating precisely how to leverage the robust capabilities of the LimaCharlie API in conjunction with the power of Claude Code to build rich real-time dashboards.

The primary objective of this session is to enable participants to architect and build their own highly customized, real-time dashboard applications they can run on a local system or internal network. These dashboards will not be static reports; they will be dynamic, stand-alone applications capable of visualizing crucial security metrics, incident streams, and sensor health data tailored to specific organizational needs and workflows.

Key areas covered will include:

  • Understanding the LimaCharlie API: A deep dive into the API endpoints necessary for fetching real-time data, managing sensors, and interacting with core security features.
  • Leveraging Claude Code for Rapid Development: Utilizing the AI's ability to generate, debug, and refine the necessary code (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to interact with the API, accelerating the development of the dashboard's backend and frontend components.
  • Designing for Real-Time Performance: Best practices for polling or subscribing to data streams to ensure the dashboard reflects the current state of the environment with minimal latency.
  • Visualization Techniques: Exploring various charting and visualization libraries to effectively represent complex security data (e.g. event timelines, geographical sensor maps, high-volume data summaries).
  • Creating a Stand-Alone Application: Guidance on packaging and deploying the custom dashboard as a self-contained application, independent of the main LimaCharlie interface, allowing for specialized use cases like SOC wall displays or executive summaries.

By the end of this workshop, attendees will possess the knowledge and practical experience to move beyond standard tooling and implement specialized, Claude Code built monitoring solutions that provide immediate, actionable insight into their security posture.
